Badr University in Cairo (BUC) has announced admission for this year’s high school graduates, Arabs and foreigners, to the departments of Russian and Turkish, which were recently opened at the BUC School of Linguistics and Translation. The departments of Russian and Turkish are set to receive their first batch of students as of the next academic year.
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kamel, BUC President, stressed that the resolution to open the Russian and Turkish departments as of the next academic year was issued by the BUC Board of Trustees, chaired by Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Qalla. This resolution comes in accordance with the Board’s intention to expand the School of Linguistics and Translation, as its first class graduate this academic year 2018/2019. Additionally, the resolution is in line with all the studies highlighting the high demand currently and in the future for both the Russian and Turkish languages in the Egyptian and Arab labor markets.
The BUC President also pointed out that admission is currently not limited to the Turkish and Russian departments, but also to the School other departments, namely English, German, Italian, Spanish and Chinese. According to him, applications are submitted at the BUC premises, Badr city, Cairo. Egyptian, Arab and foreign students graduating this year from Arabic and foreign high schools are welcome to apply. Moreover, Egyptian Thanawya Amma (General Secondary School Certificate) graduates are permitted to submit their applications until their results are announced.
