Future Contexts: Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Literature School Language & Translation

The School of Linguistics and Translation at Badr University in Cairo is pleased to hold its 2nd International Conference under the title of “Future Contexts: Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Literature, Language and Translation”, in collaboration with different international universities. It is an honor to host 6 International Keynote Speakers from different countries around the world, the USA, UK, Italy and China. The conference is held under the patronage of Prof. Muhammad Ayman Ashour, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Professor Hasan al-Qalla, the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
The sessions of the conference are delivered on the 15th and the 16th of October 2022, in addition to conducting 4 workshops on Ethics of Copy Rights and Scientific Incubator in association with TICO at BUC and Language Teaching Methodologies by Capital Professional. The conference has gained support from international and national sponsors.
The keynote speakers in Translation will explore the future contexts of Translation, especially after the pandemic of COVID19. It is headed by Prof. Mona Baker – Professor of Translation Studies, Present Director of Baker Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies at Shanghai International Studies University, and Honorary Dean of the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation at Beijing Foreign Studies University and Prof. Christopher Rundle, Professor of Translation at both the University of Manchester and the University of Bologna. Additionally, keynote speeches include “Is There a Future for Literary Studies? Teaching Literature through Interdisciplinary Perspectives” by Prof. Jeanne Dubino, USA, and “Today’s Literary Theory in China” by Prof. ZHANG Hua, China.
The conference welcomes more than 60 researchers in different disciplines: Literature, Linguistics and Translation in various languages: Arabic, English, German, Spanish, Italian and French from the USA, Germany, Italy, France, China, Macau, Iraq, Algeria and Egypt.
