Professor Dr Huda graduated from Alexandria University in 1971, completed an Master of Science in Nursing (MScN) from Cairo University in 1978 and obtained a Doctorate in Nursing Science (DNSc) from Cairo University in 1983.

She has held respected positions throughout her career to include Professor of Medical-Surgical Nursing at Cairo University; Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at the Modern University for Technology and Information; Clinical Instructor in the Faculty of Nursing at Alexandria University; Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Nursing at Cairo University; and Assistant Professor and Professor at Cairo University.  Additionally, Dr Huda has served as a consultant to Project HOPE of Egypt from 1991- 1993; Deputy Director Project HOPE of Egypt from 1993-1995; Country Director Project HOPE of Egypt 1995-2003, and an Advisor to Minister of Health in Egypt from 2006-2010.
