Meet the Dean

Professor Yasser Mohamed

Dr. Yasser is a professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Suez Canal University, (SCU). He joined BUC in 2021.

Dr. Yasser graduated from the faculty of pharmacy, Cairo University in 1986 and obtained his master’s degree in 1989.

Dr. Yasser occupied the post of assistant lecturer in the Faculty of Pharmacy, SCU. in 1995 and he obtained his Ph.D. in 1999 from the scientific channel between the University of Texas, Medical Branch (UTMB), Texas, USA, and SCU, Egypt.

He occupied the post of lecturer in 1999 and assistant professor in 2006.

He became a professor in 2012. He is interested in the research field in the area of Pharmacology and Toxicology with more than 60 international publications and has received many rewards. In 2020, He became among the best 2% of researchers in Pharmacology and Toxicology sciences according to Stanford University, USA, evaluation.

Dr. Yasser occupied several managerial posts including, Head of Pharmacology and Toxicology Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, SCU in 2007. The Coordinator of the Clinical Pharmacy program and Director of the Education Development Center, SCU in 2012, Vice-Dean for postgraduate and research affairs, Faculty of Pharmacy SCU in 2011, then he was appointed the Dean of the faculty, SCU, in 2015.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Soliman Doghish

Vice Dean of Research and Postgraduate Affairs

Dr. Ahmed Soliman graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University (Egypt) in 1998. After graduation, he worked as a teaching assistant in the Biochemistry Department and researcher in Tumor Marker Oncology Research Unit, Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University. He got his Master’s degree in 2005 on oxidative stress induced by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Then he obtained his Ph.D. in 2010 on the effect of heroin and cannabis addiction on immune response, sex hormones and investigate the association between heroin and cannabis addiction and oxidative stress.

Dr. Soliman has then worked as Lecturer in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University (Cairo, Egypt). He got promoted to Associate Prof. in May 2016 after which he joined the School of Pharmacy at Badr University in Cairo in 2018. His academic goal is to dedicate his efforts and time to attain excellence in teaching undergraduates and training postgraduates.

He is looking forward to actively participating in pharmacy education, scholar activities, and services at Badr University. Meanwhile, he is looking forward to keeping his research productivity, initiating a research lab for training both under and postgraduates, and collaborating scientifically with new scientists. All of this with the ultimate goal of better understanding of the molecular mechanisms of diseases and developing new therapeutic strategies to provide better health outcomes for our patients.

Meet the Vice Dean

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ehab Mohamed Gedawy

Vice Dean of Environmental Affairs and Community Development

Dr. Ehab Gedawy graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University in 2001. After graduation, he worked as a teaching assistant in the Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. He got his Master’s degree in 2006 in the synthesis of some new triazinoquinazoline derivatives of expected antimicrobial activity. Then he obtained his Ph.D. in 2010 on certain heterocyclic compounds containing pyridine and pyrimidine rings: synthesis, anticancer and molecular modeling.

Gedawy has then worked as Lecturer in the Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University. He got promoted to Associate Prof. in November 2016 after which he joined the School of Pharmacy at BUC in 2018.

His academic goal is to dedicate his efforts and time to attain excellence in teaching undergraduates and training postgraduates. He is looking forward to actively participating in pharmacy education, scholar activities, and services in BUC.

Meet the Vice Dean

Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Abdel-Ghany

Vice Dean of Educational and Student Affairs

Elsayed Abdelghany is the Vice Dean and Head of the Pharmaceutics Department of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Industries at Badr University in Cairo since September 2015.

Professor Elsayed holds a Ph. D. degree in Nuclear Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics) from Cairo University/Atomic Energy Authority, Cairo, Egypt (1997), and held many prestigious positions throughout his career including the Vice-dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Industries, Sinai University, Egypt, and Professor of Nuclear Pharmacy and Pharmaceutics from 7/2008 to 9/2015. Also, Elsayed was an assistant professor of Nuclear Pharmacy and Pharmaceutics, Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority.

Elsayed Abdelghany sponsored many projects funded by The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) including EGY/6/03 for the production of radiopharmaceuticals, EGY/4/034 for the production of primary reagents require of the radio-immune assay (RIA), and immune-radiometric assay (IRMA), and EGY/2/007 for the production of monoclonal antibodies for tumor markers.

Elsayed has authored almost 45 journal articles and conference papers covering the localization of radioactive isotopes (for imaging and therapy) in tissues and organs of interest. The localization of such radioactive isotopes depends on many technologies such as gene transfer theory, nanotechnology, and receptors-oriented methods.

Elsayed has supervised over 25 master’s and doctoral theses.

School premises

An IT lab with 25 PCs, 8 printers, 1 photocopier and 2 scanners.

The classrooms are well equipped with comfort seats, a smart board, a data show device, a display screen, a microphone, headphones, Wi-Fi, and central air conditioning.

The library at the school of law connected with the central library, based on Campus, includes a large number of innovative law books and publications set out in a relaxing environment, conducive to studying. There are comfortable seating areas, group study areas, a silent study area and private study rooms.

There are central halls and stands at the university that can be used when necessary, and they are all equipped for cultural, artistic and sports activities

The university offers a learning management system (LMS) for enhancing learning needs in all areas, assignment, examinations, and student registration attendance.

The university offers health care facilities through well-equipped health care clinics (general clinics, dental care clinics and physiotherapy clinic. There is a diverse food court offering cold and hot snacks as a small area offering a variety of groceries and cold snacks. In addition, there is a copy center, a bank, and a flower shop.

& WORKSHOPS

The School is fully equipped with a variety of specialized labs according to the faculty needs in each field of study. All the labs contain data show and computer connected to the internet via a wireless network to ensure an interactive learning experience, as well as laboratory preparation rooms containing the chemicals and all the necessary glassware, fire extinguishers and first aid kits.

Chemistry & Biochemistry Labs

6 labs are especially equipped to fulfill the needs of the study of the different branches of chemistry including; Organic & inorganic chemistry, Pharmaceutical & Medicinal chemistry, Biochemistry, Phytochemistry the labs are furnished with electric flames, centrifuge, spectrophotometer, electric water bath, pH meters and others.

Pharmacology Labs

3 labs are especially equipped to fulfill the needs of the study pharmacology and Toxicology the lab equipment include digital balance, chymograph, electric water bath, hot plate and others.

Pharmaceutics labs

3 labs are especially equipped to fulfill the needs of the study of the field of pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology including electric water bath, spectrophotometer, electric stirrers & hot plate, digital balance and others.

Microbiology & Pharmacognosy Labs

3 labs are especially equipped to fulfill the needs of the study of both fields of Microbiology & Pharmacognosy including Bunsen burners, electric flames, electric water bath, centrifuge, autoclave, incubators, microscopes and others.
