The General Authority for Health Care and IPDCE Unifying to Develop the Capabilities of the Medical and Administrative Staff

The General Authority for Health Care and the Institute of Professional Development and Continuing Education of Badr University in Cairo signed a cooperation protocol in the areas of raising the efficiency and capabilities of the manpower working in the health facilities affiliated with the authority in the governorates of comprehensive health insurance.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobki, President of the General Authority for Health Care, indicated that the cooperation protocol aims to train and raise the efficiency of medical and administrative staff working in health facilities affiliated with the General Authority for Health Care in the governorates of comprehensive health insurance through the Institute for Professional Development and Continuing Education of Badr University, which is reflected in the quality of services, and the health care provided to the citizen under the umbrella of the comprehensive health insurance system.

He added, that under this protocol, the Institute of Professional Development and Continuing Education at Badr University will register and train several medical and administrative cadres from candidates affiliated with the Health Care Authority, on training programs that qualify them to obtain a professional diploma in quality and accreditation in the field of health care. The training programs will include institutional leadership and quality, management of health care personnel, integrated patient-centered care services, standards of operational and diagnostic services, risk management in health service institutions, the safety of the environment and patients, quality and performance improvement, infection prevention and control in the quality system, management, and information technology, as well as accreditation and institutional excellence.

Al-Sobki stressed that the cooperation protocol with the Institute of Professional Development and Continuing Education contributes to achieving the objectives of the General Authority for Health Care by providing its health facilities with distinguished human cadres of experts, specialists, and technicians in various medical and health fields. To be able to provide safe and world-class health services; Participation in the steps taken to improve the health system in Egypt, and achieve the highest levels of satisfaction of beneficiaries of comprehensive health insurance and all customers, the precious goal of the authority and the main axis around which all aspects of the health service are organized; To meet patients’ needs and expectations as well as ensure their safety and security.

Dr. Hassan El-Kalla, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Badr University, stated that the Institute of Professional Development and Continuing Education helps to provide training courses and professional degrees in various fields of science and academic studies, including health care, quality, and accreditation of health facilities; For specialists and technicians working in various medical and health facilities; Which has a significant impact on the future of health care in Egypt and the Arab world, pointing out that what is happening in the improvement of medical and health services in this era was considered a distant dream for decades and has become a tangible reality.

The signing of the protocol was witnessed by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, President of the General Authority for Health Care, Assistant Minister of Health and Population and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, and Dr. Hassan El-Kalla, Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptians Company for Health Care Services, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Badr University and President of the Egyptian Association for Quality of Health Care.

The protocol was signed by Dr. Amir Al-Talwani, Executive Director of the General Authority for Health Care, as a representative of the authority, and Dr. Fawzi Turki, President of Badr University in Cairo, as a representative of the University’s Institute of Professional Development and Continuing Education.
