Visit of the delegation of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)

On march 22, 2023 representatives of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) visited Badr University to discuss final stages of joining the membership of the AUF. They were received by Prof. Fawzi Torkey, President of the University, Prof. Mustafa Kamal, President of Badr University in Assiut, Prof. Amr Al-Etreby, Vice President for Graduate Studies, Environmental Affairs and Community Service, Prof. Mahmoud Sobhi, Vice President for Scientific Research, Prof. Wafaa El-Sherbiny, International Relations Manager at the University, Prof. Dr. Hussein Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, and Prof. Dr. Sami Nassar, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculties of the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Prof. Dr. Nihad Mansour and Prof. Dr. Rasha Kamal.  The delegation was introduced to the educational facilities and potentials of the University through presentations on the University’s scientific research activities and the activities of entrepreneurship, TICO and innovation centers at Badr University presented by Dr. Gihan Hamza . The meeting was concluded with a presentation on digital transformation at the university by Dr. Karim Kamel, Digital Transformation Official.

In this context, the two parties discussed the possibilities of joint cooperation between the two parties to enhance the University’s education and scientific research in Egypt and transferring the University’s expertise to the African countries members of the Francophone  Agency.

The representatives of the Francophone Agency expressed their readiness to organize courses and workshops for university staff in the field of digital transformation in general and especially for the French language departments at the University. They also discussed the possibility to provide partial scholarships to Badr University students wishing to register their master’s online degrees in programs affiliated to the Agency’s partner universities around the world.
