The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSC) is the hub of humanistic and cultural studies and most recent school at BUC. It includes 8 academic departments and started its programs in the academic year 2021-2022 in two departments; Clinical Psychology and Mass Media.
Prof. Rashad Ahmed Abd El-Latif is Professor of Community Organization and Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Badr University in Cairo.
Throughout his distinguished academic and administrative career, he has held several prominent leadership positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Social Work at Helwan University, Vice President of Helwan University for Education and Student Affairs, and Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development. He also served as President of the Workers University and the Workers Cultural Foundation, in addition to serving as Head of the Social Work Sector of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities.
Prof. Abd El-Latif completed his Post-Doctoral studies in the United States and is a member of several international professional associations, including the International Federation of Social Workers and the International Association of Schools of Social Work in the United States. He also serves as a scientific reviewer for the International Journal of Social Development.
At both regional and international levels, he has contributed to the advancement of education and social work through research and academic collaborations with universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also participated in establishing social work departments at Sana’a University and Aden University in Yemen. In addition, he has served as a consultant to several governmental bodies, including as an advisor to the Minister of Local Development for the Egyptian Village Development Project and as an advisor to the Governor of Cairo on informal settlement development initiatives.
Prof. Abd El-Latif has also participated in numerous specialized training programs at the Nasser Military Academy and the Egyptian Police Academy in the fields of personality analysis and human development. He has authored numerous research studies and scholarly publications in the areas of community organization, social welfare, and development policies.

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Badr University in Cairo is one of the leading academic institutions in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The central library, based on Campus, includes a large number of innovative nursing books and publications set out in a relaxing environment, conducive to studying. There are comfortable seating areas, group study areas, a silent study area and private study rooms.
There are central halls and stands at the university that can be used when necessary, and they are all equipped for cultural, artistic and sports activities
The university offers a learning management system (LMS) for enhancing learning needs in all areas, assignment, examinations and student registration attendance.
The university offers health care facilities through well-equipped health care clinics (general clinics, dental care clinics and physiotherapy clinic. There is a diverse food court offering cold and hot snacks as a small area offering a variety of groceries and cold snacks. In addition, there is a copy center, a bank and a flower shop
During the school’s bylaw creation, we were mindful of the developments in contemporary scientific branches in various disciplines and the changes in the labor market.
