The degree is designed for eight semesters, however, top students can complete their degree in less than four years if they pass the maximum number of credit hours allowed in one semester, including the summer semester.

Meet the Dean
Prof. Dr. Salwa Mamdouh
Professor of Public Administration and Dean for the School of Political Science and International Relations at Badr University in Cairo (BUC). She served as Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs as well as Director of the International Affairs Office. She was a visiting professor at the University of Cincinnati at both the School of Political Science and the School of Economics, Ohio, USA. She coordinated MOUs with many notable civil society and governmental institutions. In addition, she served as the academic coordinator of a number of international joint programs and courses with Seattle University, the University of Washington, the Soliya Connect Program, and the British Council. She was also a Public Policy Consultant for UNICEF, Egypt. She holds a PhD in Public Administration from the Sadat Academy for Management Sciences, and both an MA in Business Administration and a BA in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo (AUC).
She is an Adjunct Professor at the National Defense College and a member of its Fellowship Thesis Reviewing Committee. She is also a member of the Committee of Scientific Awards in management sciences at the Supreme Council of Culture, Ministry of Culture. She has participated in numerous international conferences and published national and international research papers in the field of public administration and public policy. She also served as a member of the Committee for Leadership and Supervisory Positions at the Ministry of Manpower, as well as a member of the Political Participation Committee at the National Council for Women. Moreover, she writes in a number of newspapers in both Arabic and English.
She is a member of the Board of Trustees and Advisor for International Affairs at the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights and the Chairman of ASSDA, an NGO that has been established since 1998. She participated in the National Dialogue concerning academic freedom. She was the Executive Director of Cairo Center for Human Development (CCHD) from 2012 to 2016.

- Mandatory Faculty requirements: students are required to cover (60 credit hours).
- Specialization faculty requirements: students are required to cover (72 credit hours).
