Science Academy
The Interdisciplinary Scientific Research Center was established to provide diverse instrumentation and expertise for researchers in various fields. The Center explores areas such as biological and medical sciences, advanced studies in genetic engineering, stem cell research, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Additionally, the Center facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration that is crucial in the understanding, development, translation, and implementation of innovative technologies.
Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research
Dr. Mahmoud Fahmy Elsabahy
Dr. Mahmoud Elsabahy is the vice president for graduate studies and research at Badr University in Cairo. He is a professor of pharmaceutical technology and nanomedicine with more than 20 years of experience in developing cutting-edge technologies for gene therapy and the delivery of biotechnology-related products. He is a fellow of the Leaders in Innovation Fellowship Program (Royal Academy of Engineering in London), which provided added skills in business and entrepreneurship, a pivotal bridge between academia and industry. He has completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the faculty of pharmacy at the University of Montreal “Pharmaceutical Technology” (Montreal, Canada). Dr. Elsabahy has been the assistant director of a research facility at Texas A&M University (Texas, USA, 2011–2020). Currently, he is a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University. He was ranked in 2020–2024 among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, as named by Stanford University World’s Top 2% Scientists. He contributed to 130 publications in international top-profile peer-reviewed journals and is the principal investigator on several national and international grants. He is the editor of several international journals. Research interests include the rational design of pharmaceutical dosage forms and nanomedicine for various therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical applications, for which he has received several national and international prestigious awards. He is the primary inventor of several granted US and European patents. In May 2016, he received the State Award, and in August 2017, he received the Excellence Medal “First Class” from the Egyptian President. In 2021, he won the “Gold Medal” from the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. In 2022, he won the State Award for Excellence in Advanced Technological Sciences. He has been participating in the planning and managing of science and technology in Egypt through a membership in the Egyptian Young Academy of Science. Currently, he is an Ambassador for the Egyptian Young Academy of Science. Furthermore, he is actively participating in reforming education and research to empower individuals and communities to break the cycle of poverty and work towards a more equitable society for all.
