Prof. Dr. Fawzy Torkey, President of Badr University in Cairo, has announced that the School of Veterinary Medicine received a high-level delegation representing the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at “Leipzig University ” in Germany. The delegation included: Prof. Dr. Uwe Truyen, a Professor of Animal Hygiene and Control of Epidemic Diseases at the Veterinary Faculty of the Leipzig University and Director of the Institute for Animal Hygiene and Veterinary Public Health, and Dr. Ahmed Abd El Wahed, head of the laboratory at the Institute of Animal Hygiene and Veterinary Public Health, Leipzig University, Germany, and Guest Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. Prof. Dr. Adel Abdelkhalek, Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine has pointed out that the main objectives of the visit were to discuss ways of cooperation between both faculties in terms of the exchange of staff members, student exchange, and training. Dr. Ahmed Hamed Arisha, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, gave a presentation that included an overview of the school and future plans to develop educational activities. The German delegate then visited various classrooms, laboratories, and the BUC Pet Clinic, followed by a tour of the BUC campus. Prof. Dr. Amr Elatraby, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Environmental Affairs, and Community Service, and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Fahmy El-Sobhy, Vice President for Scientific Research Affairs, accompanied by a large number of faculty members and students attended a presentation from the German side about Leipzig University and research-based education. At the end of the visit, the group expressed their gratitude for the university’s immaculate efforts and appraised the infrastructure, and technology it possesses in different laboratories.
